Fairmont Dental Group is proud to hold the Sterility Monitoring Certificate provided by the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Dentistry. This certificate acknowledges that our office uses biological indicator and culturing service to monitor sterilization efficacy. Biological indicators are the most accepted means of monitoring the sterilization process.

Because spores used in biological indicators are more resistant and present in greater numbers than are the common microbial contaminants found on patient care equipment, an inactivated indicator implies that other potential pathogens in the load have also been killed. In addition to conducting our weekly routine biological monitoring, our Certified Dental Assistants also monitor sterility whenever a new type of packaging material is used and after training new sterilization personnel.

All our staff wear masks, gloves, as well as protective eyewear which is worn both by the staff and our patients. We use the latest technology and equipment to always ensure the highest level and standards are used to maintain a sterile environment.
